Oshkosh Corporation was founded in 1917, driven by a breakthrough four-wheel drive system that gave people the courage and confidence to go places they never thought they would. In 1915, William Besserdich and Bernhard Mosling patented their innovative four-wheel drive system. Unable to find a buyer for their design, they endeavored to realize its promise themselves. That marked the start of Oshkosh Corporation — and set the tone for the next century. Twelve brands, five continents and more than 800 active patents later, we’re still dreaming up new and better ways to make a difference around the world.
